Parka System from Northern Outfitters Can’t Be Beat

January 29th, 2010 by Guest | No Comments | Filed in Outdoor Camping

Northern Outfitters makes the world’s warmest men’s parka, women’s parka, snow pants, winter boots and other extreme cold weather clothing.

One lucky customer wrote, “Your gear held up superbly on my most recent sled dog trip. On our way back, we got on thin ice and I slid headlong onto two feet of water. The temperature was -10° F and windy. I felt a gush of ice water through my boots and pants while wading in the water to ˜unbundle’ the dogs. My boot shells and pants froze solid … However, almost miraculously, my feet and legs remained warm, although damp. We kept going and I wore my boots and pants for nine more hours. This stuff really works!”

UK Fishing Tackle Equipment: a Plethora of Fishing Gear Available

January 25th, 2010 by Guest | No Comments | Filed in Outdoor Camping

Fishing tackle equipment in the UK are subsumed under many different types. The pole is often recognized as the first among these types by being the most fundamental among them. Comprised of the familiar parts of line, hook, pole, and bait, any good fishing day is within reach. Reels could cast the bait over distances, since it stores a great amount of line. The four kinds of reels are bait cast, spin cast, spinning and fly. If you have never fished before or are a relative beginner to the sport of angling, start with the basic fishing tackle equipment found in the UK and move up as you gain experience.

Camping Edibles

January 22nd, 2010 by Guest | No Comments | Filed in Outdoor Camping

You need to bring foods that are straightforward to store and keep fresh.

You must include nibbles for the trail as well as foods to make preparations for each meal. Breakfast begin the day off right with a breakfast which is going to get you prepared for a day of hiking or exploring. Cut up some mushrooms, onions, bacon and potatoes and grill in a pan over the fire till done. Mix eggs with a little milk and tip over the mix to heat till the eggs are entirely cooked. This is a great pan meal that’s simple to prepare and clean up. Another simple meal to prepare is a breakfast taco. Cook some eggs and place inside a tortilla with cheese and picante sauce.

Military Sleeping Bag

If youare feeling a bit more intrepid, try a breakfast pizza using pre-prepared crusts and eggs. You can cook the eggs any way you like them and add bacon, potatoes or sausage. Lunch Keep lunch really easy to prepare and clean up so you get back to your journeys. Sandwiches are a great dinner time treat using easy to store and prepare foods. Gore Tex Bivouac

Cut lunch meats with veg on bread make the perfect pick me up. For a hot side plate to go with the sandwiches take some frozen chips, chili and cheese sauce, combine them in foil, wrapping it firmly. Throw the package on the fire and cook until the fries are cooked through and then enjoy your gooey chili cheese fries. Dinner Dinner made of a good stew is a good choice. Using canned plants, mix equal proportions of your favourites in a heavy pot. These can include corn, peas and beans. Add 2 cans of catsup and 2 cans of sliced tomatoes and boil slowly over an open fire for a filling stew. If you went fishing and were satisfactorily fortunate to make a catch, fry it for dinner. After cleaning the fish, cut it into fillets. Mix one can of lager with 2 eggs till comprehensively mixed. To that add 12 oz of flour, 2 spoons of baking powder and pepper and salt to sample. Dip the fish in cornstarch then the batter. Place it in hot oil and fry until the batter puffs. This is a method to enjoy the efforts put forth after a day of fishing.

Trail Nibbles No camping trek is complete without nibbles to prepare and bring while you are out on a nature hike. Walking and hiking is tricky work so you need to bring some foods that may help raise your energy. Popcorn popped over an open flame is an enjoyable way to prepare the day after’s break. Trail mix is a conventional option and is restricted to only your inventiveness. Use a mixture of hearty ingredients with candy. Mix granola, raisins, chocolate chips, M & M’s, cereal, dried fruits and nuts. Use whatever combos you like. My favourite camping meals though, are made with pudgie pie makers ( also called pie irons ). Our family uses pudgie pie makers to meal heavenly gifts for lunch and dinner.

Bread is the staple ingredient in making a pudgie pie. To make one, butter 2 slices of bread. Place the buttered side down in the pudgie pie maker. This can stop the bread from sticking. Place a cheese cut on top of each piece of bread. Close the pudgie pie maker. Place in the coals of your campfire. It’ll only take one or two minutes for the pie to cook. Watch your sandwich closely. Dependent on how hot your fire is, the sandwich will cook very swiftly. Ham and tomato are also wonderful additions to your cheese sandwich. Pizza pudgie pies are favored by our family too.

Again, butter 2 bits of bread and place the buttered side down in the pudgie pie maker. Add your favorite pizza toppings ( ours are canned pizza sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese ). Close the pudgie pie maker and place in the coals of your campfire to cook. Take care when removing pudgie pies from your pudgie pie maker. Both the pudgie pie maker and your sandwich will be very hot. Another favourite sort of pudgie pie that our family enjoys are pudding ones. Cook in the fire and enjoy. And naturally, no camping expedition is complete without making smores. They’re also simple to make. Once your marshmallow is warm and gooey, stick it on top of a graham cracker and a bit of a chocolate bar, and then crown with another graham cracker. Cooking while camping can basically be lots of fun. Preparing foods should be simple and need only a little clean up and use few saucepans. At the end of the night, though, no camping expedition would be finished without toasting marshmallows. Cut some branches and skewer massive marshmallows. Hold each stick over the flame till brown and toasty. More here… Solar Camping Gear.

It leads to a great, gooey pudding and aperfect end to your day.
